Arrival day and day 1: Hatari Lodge: |
|
A long cherished wish of Africa
enthusiasts came true in September
2004: The former private homes of
actor Hardy Krüger and his farm
manager, Jim Mallory, are at the
centre of an extremely comfortable
new lodge located at the edge of
Arusha National Park, close to the
setting of the legendary movie, HATARI!
and overlooking the world famous
Mount Kilimanjaro and its
neighboring dormant volcano, Mount
Meru.
The sun disappeared behind Mt. Meru...
The snows of Kilimanjaro reflected
in the dark mirror of its smooth
surface. Happy who may live her.
Live!. In the real sense of the
word.
(Translated from the novel: “Meine
Farm in Afrika” by Hardy Krüger;
Lübbe Publications.) |

Day 2: Lake Burunge Tented Camp: |
|
Only 10minutes away from Tarangire
National Park the 16 Luxury Tents
are located in a shady bushland
grove, with spectacular views onto
Lake Burunge. Its main building
offers a central lounge, and bar
dining area with a raised wooden
deck. This elevated platform is the
ideal venue for guests to relax and
enjoy a sun downer whilst the sun
disappears over the lake, or to
simply sit and enjoy the warm fire
place. |

Day 3: Ngorongoro Farm House: |
|
A small and exclusive lodge facing the
Oldeani Volcano, only 5 kms. from the
Ngorongoro Lolduare gate, was built to
offer our clients an original experience
reminiscent of the atmosphere of the old
days.
Ngorongoro Farm House was inaugurated on
February the 20th 2003, and is offering
40 huge cottages with ample space
inside, built on the style of an old
colonial farm and rustically decorated
with local materials and full of details
of good taste, with the purpose of
offering our clients an imaginary
journey to the life of the days gone. |

Day 4 and 5:
Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge: |
|
Perched on the jagged rim of the
crater, wreathed in morning
mist, camouflaged in river-stone
and cloaked in indigenous
creepers, the Ngorongoro Serena
Safari Lodge is a triumph of
ecological and architectural
fusion. Sensitively constructed
so as to take nothing from its
environment whilst affording
endless vistas over the
heat-shimmering reaches of the
crater below, the clustered
boulder-built buildings of the
Lodge hug the crater rim, linked
by rope-lashed timber walkways
that skirt the buttressed roots
of ancient, liana-hung trees. |

|
Day 6, 7 and 8: Serengeti Serena Safari
Lodge: |
|
Set high on the saddle of tree-clad
ridge commanding panoramic views over
the endlessly rolling reaches and
volcanic reefs of the Serengeti, the
Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge is the
ultimate fusion of traditional African
architecture and world-class style.
Drawing its inspiration from the
circular ‘Rondavel’ dwellings and
winding paths of a traditional Maasai
village, the Lodge features
thickly-thatched, stone-built rooms,
spaciously set amongst groves of
indigenous trees that are cooled by
sparkling streams and papyrus-fringed
ponds. |

Day 9, 10 and 11: Sable Mountain
Lodge: |
|
What a fantastic start to our
honeymoon. We've been spoilt by
having so many animals to see. Food
was great and staff are all so
helpful, friendly and chatty. Thank
you to all at Sable Mountain Lodge.
The camp is small and intimate with
emphasis placed on a true wilderness
experience combined with warm
hospitality.
Eight stone cottages are spaciously
situated over the Beho Beho
hillside. |

Day 12,
13, 14 and 15:
Ocean Paradise Resort: |
|
Situated on Zanzibar’s picturesque
North East coast, overlooking the
turquoise Indian Ocean, it is as the
name suggests a little piece of
paradise.
At Ocean Paradise Resort Zanzibar,
you will be greeted by a blaze of
colour as you sweep down the
imposing driveway, saluted by a
Masai warrior as you pass through
the entrance gate and be captivated
as you arrive in reception and look
out over the resort and the azure
blue sea. |

Day
16:
The Zanzibar Serena Inn: |
|
Idyllically situated on the sea
front of ancient Stone Town,
washed by the aquamarine waters
of the Zanzibar channel,
redolent of the scent of cloves
and flanked by an exotic mélange
of sultan’s palaces, Portuguese
forts, ancient dhow harbors,
dark slave markets, and bright
bazaars, the Zanzibar Serena Inn
is a haven of tranquility and
opulence amongst the bustle of
Zanzibar. Faithfully restored
and lavishly embellished with a
jackdaw collection of antique
clocks, crystal chandeliers,
fretwork screens, carved
staircases, Persian rugs and
brass-studded doors, the
interior design concept is a
fusion of authenticity and
opulence that reflects the very
essence of Zanzibar. |
